I proposed to my long term girlfriend, Megan, on Friday night (October 16th 2009) in Molley Malones, the bar we met in on June 25th 2005. She accepted my proposal and we are planning our wedding for Autumn 2011, somewhere in the Otago Lakes district of New Zealand.
This is what I said.
Every one of the 1,574 days since we met in this bar I have felt overwhelmingly happy and unbelievably grateful to have you in my life.
I am thankful for you everyday.
I’d like to have many more days with you.
*down on one knee*
Megan Campbell will you marry me?

That’s so beautiful, congratulations (again, since I had already given them to you on twitter the day it happened). I’m really bad with geography so I don’t know which are the Otago Lakes (Don’t mock me, I’m not from NZ!)but I do remember going to Lake Tekapo and absolutely falling in love with the landscape. The lady inside the Church of the Good Shepperd, right by the lake, said that they have lots of weddings there every year. It was such an amazing place I’ve kept her words in my mind… you never know.

Thanks. I read your comment and cried (Megan’s home tomorrow!).
Otago’s Central Lake’s District includes Wanaka and Queenstown, Cromwell and Alexander. Tekapo’s probably Canterbury but they look the same (although the lakes aren’t the same striking colour).

Oh. Didn’t mean to make you cry at all. Being engaged is wonderful! Tomorrow will come by in a flash
Oh Wanaka… I’ve been there too, I remember. So beautiful! Right, looking forward to the photos with the blog post in 2011!
