I was flying home on Tuesday night and just before we began our descent into Wellington I was surprised to hear about Air New Zealand’s new recycling policy. Apparently passengers can now do their bit to help the environment by recycling the plastic wrappers of the in-flight sweets.
I tried to talk to the person sitting next to me about how we probably needed to get a bit of perspective on our environmental efforts, but over the roar of the giant jet engines on each wing, she had trouble understanding me.
I don’t blame Air New Zealand, New Zealand has literarily a long way to go and who knows maybe we made some progress today.
